THEMATIC (SECTORIAL) AREA OF INTERVENTION

WOMEN AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

SWCC focus on building resilience, self-confidence and self-worth that helps Women youth to develop mechanisms for protection against life’s ups and downs. Education and economic empowerment open the door to self-sufficiency and help young people to become productive and contributing members of their communities. We teach young people how to be positive advocates for change, provide leadership skills, and empower them to be self-valued leaders and citizens of their communities capable of creating reform.

NUTRITION

SWCC provides nutrition programs to vulnerable children and school feeding programs. We majorly focus on children with acute malnutrition, underweight, stunting, and micronutrient deficiencies.

SOCIAL PROTECTION

Protection program encompasses provision of support to women and vulnerable children through legal counseling to women and children who are victims of human rights abuses; Gender based Violence Prevention and Response and ending early child marriage. We also carry out information dissemination and awareness raising campaign on the fundamental human rights.

PEACE BUILDING

Peacebuilding programs purely look at the main source of issues including; conflicts management and resolving in a non-violent manner? Do different community groups recognize and accept each other? (the use of national laws and by-laws, the involvement of government, holding the government responsible and accountable, support dialogue between conflicting tribes or communities.

FOOD SECURITY LIVELIHOOD(FSL)

In South Sudan, thousands of people are going hungry because of lack of food to eat which has led to current famine in South Sudan and many people have lost their lives, especially women and children. SWCC therefore helps the vulnerable people on how to produce their own foods and also train them how to store harvested produce to prevent future occurrences of famine.

BASIC EDUCATION

We provide non formal education to vulnerable or marginalized youths in vocational skills including Tailoring and Garment Cutting, Catering and Hotel Services, Art & Craft and small scale business skills.

GOOD GOVERNANCE

Under this thematic area, SWCC enhances the capacity of Women and Youth in democratic leadership, Access to Justice and Rule of law.

WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH)

In South Sudan, thousands of women and children trek for up to eight hours a day to collect water from marshes, ditches, or hand-dug wells where water is often contaminated with parasites and bacteria which has then resulted in sickness and even deaths. SWCC works to increase access to clean and safe drinking water to rural communities and IDPs through systematic multiplication of protected and safe water points, rehabilitation of the existing water points. Awareness creation through mass hygiene promotion campaigns on water, sanitation, and hygiene as an integral part of the organization.

SEXUAL REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (SRH)

SWCC focus on HIV/AIDS Awareness campaign on prevention, referral, care, opening voluntary counseling among the community at grassroots level with the aim of reducing chances of contracting HIV infection among the community especially Youth, Women, Men and Pregnant mothers, we also do behavior change activities and Life skills.
